蛞蝓龜(Slurtle）是一種由洞穴中的甲殼石墩產生的中立生物。它小而慢，但有高血量，並且受到幾次攻擊後會躲入殼中，吸收95%所受傷害，這使得它很難殺死。蛞蝓龜死亡時會掉落兩個蛞蝓粘液，以及甲殼碎片或甲殼頭盔。蛞蝓龜活着時會時不時掉落蛞蝓粘液，類似野牛掉落糞便。

蛞蝓龜會吃掉地上除大理石以外所有礦物。周圍沒有礦石而玩家身上有時，蛞蝓龜會攻擊玩家。蛞蝓龜成功攻擊中玩家會擊落玩家身上的一個礦石(類似與青蛙的攻擊)，接着會試圖吃掉這個礦石。它也會從附近的儲物箱或地上的背包中敲出礦石。每吃掉一個礦物類物品，蛞蝓龜都有幾率掉落蛞蝓粘液。如果玩家攻擊一隻進食中的蛞蝓龜，它在吃的礦物會掉落回地上。

蝸牛龜

蝸牛龜(Snurtle) 是蛞蝓龜的變種，有着不一樣的甲殼，能吸收80%所受傷害。它會主動逃離玩家，而且不會反擊，只會躲入殼中。蝸牛龜死亡時會掉落兩個蛞蝓粘液，以及蝸牛殼或甲殼碎片。它們罕見地由甲殼石墩產生。

As with Slurtles, they eat minerals except Marble and can be forced out of a Slurtle Mound by hitting the mound. When ignited, a Slurtle or a Snurtle will explode in a few seconds, dealing 300 damage in a small radius. Killing it this way will make it a useful bomb; however, it will not drop any items.

狩獵

Players can kite Slurtles: strike one a few times, then run in the opposite direction before it can snap. Try not to fight more than three at once, since they're slow and group easily. When fighting a single Slurtle, it's possible to hit it 2-3 times before it has a chance to strike.

Snurtles are rarer than Slurtles but have a large chance to drop Snurtle Shell Armour. Due to their hiding ability and moderately large health, they take some time to kill. For this reason, it is a good idea to fight them when no other creatures (which might join the battle) are nearby.

Like Cave Spiders, one of the easiest ways to kill Snurtles is to simply attack them each time they poke their head out of their shell until their health is worn down. Doing such is also more efficient than any other method - the player will do far less damage whilst they are in the shell, making it more taxing on one's weapons to get a kill. Slurtles will retreat into their shell when the player throws a Boomerang, mitigating most damage, yet still consuming the 10% per throw durability on the Boomerang.

Below is the number of hits it takes with each weapon to kill a Snurtle or Slurtle when playing with characters with a default damage modifier. The Weather Pain is not included due to the random nature of its projectile.

The name "Slurtle" is a portmanteau of "slug" and "turtle", and the name "Snurtle" is a portmanteau of "snail" and "turtle."
Maxwell does not remember creating either the Snurtle or the Slurtles, and Wickerbottom does not recognise it from her home world, meaning that the creature's origins are a mystery.
Like the Slurtle, the Snurtle won't make a breaking noise (the breaking noise is when a Broken Shell is dropped) when the Shell Armor is dropped upon death.
Woodie's quote for the Slurtles ("He's just misunderstood.") may be a reference to Woodie's curse, and how he consumes wood; similar to how Slurtles (and Snurtles) consume minerals.
