帆是船难DLC中可合成的航海类物品，用于增加航行速度，并让玩家能够在航行过程中使用工具、武器和手持类光源。帆的耐久度会伴随着使用而下降；除了需要使用齿轮修复的螺旋桨外，针线包可以一次性将帆的耐久恢复成100%。拖网与帆共用一个物品栏，但运作方式不同。木筏、竹筏、‘海脚’号和冲浪板等没有物品栏的船则无法装备任何帆。

羽毛帆可以给船提供大量的速度加成。它的制作材料是2竹子、2绳索和4渡渡鸟羽毛，需要科学仪器解锁（与布帆和蛇皮帆不同）。与其他帆相比，它有着第二多的速度加成，但耐久度却和草帆一样只有2天。建议玩家在杀死任何渡渡鸟前先将它们繁殖至一定数量，这样一来就可以获得更多的羽毛资源。不然的话玩家将最多只能制作一张帆，并需要定期使用针线包修补。

螺旋桨可以给船提供大量的速度加成。它的制作材料是1涡轮叶片、1电子元件和2金块，需要炼金引擎解锁。与其他帆相比，它有着最多的速度加成和最高的耐久度（与蛇皮帆并列）。不过，想要制作它的话就必须先击败旋风海豹。只有齿轮才能修复螺旋桨，每个齿轮可以恢复25%的耐久度。
