夢魘燃料同時也可以靠屠殺爬行夢魘和巨喙夢魘來取得。爬行夢魘比起巨喙夢魘相對來說是比較容易對付的敵人。巨喙夢魘只有在角色的理智非常低的時候才會出現，所以玩家可以安心的靠爬行夢魘來農夢魘燃料。

另一個安全且簡單的方法就是利用捕蟲網捕捉蜜蜂並將牠們釋放至惡魔之花的花叢中（通常可以在零件週圍或是麥斯威爾之門附近找到）。透過蜜蜂可以增加更多惡魔之花的數量，而他們的花瓣則可以拿來做成夢魘燃料。

而最危險的作法則是深入洞穴和廢墟中尋找夢魘燈座和夢魘裂隙。這樣當夢魘循環結束時，所有從燈座和裂隙生成的暗影怪物都會死亡並掉落夢魘燃料。
