Winona's G.E.M.erator is a Character-exclusive structure/item craftable only by Winona in Don't Starve Together. It is found in the Structures Filter and Survivor Items Filter and requires 1 Trusty Tape, 2 Boards, and 2 Electrical Doodads to craft. If Winona has mastered the Portability skill, she can craft the G.E.M.erator as an item and dismantling already build G.E.M.erators.

Usage

G.E.M.erators are used to power nearby Catapults, Spotlights, and Teletransport Stations. They can also recharge dropped Handy Remotes, Portasols, and W.I.N.bots.

A full G.E.M.erator has a charge of 2880 (6 days). Each connected structure drains 1 charge per second. If a structure is connected to multiple generators the drain is divided by the number of connected generators. A G.E.M.erator has a minimal drain of 0.2 charge per second. When a G.E.M.erator is placed by a Winona with the Energy Saver skill, Winona's structures will not drain power when they are in sleep mode. Dismantling the G.E.M.erator with the Portability skill will completely pause the energy drain until the Generator is deployed again.

A G.E.M.erator starts without charge, it can be filled with Gems of any color to add one third of full charge per Gem. The Iridescent Gem cannot be used as fuel. Winona with the mastered Enlightened G.E.M.erator or Brilliance G.E.M.erator skill can also refuel it with one Enlightened Shards or Pure Brilliance to fully charge it.

Gems are stored by supplied order in the top part of the G.E.M.erator. When the G.E.M.erator reaches 0, 1/3 or 2/3 the last supplied gem is destroyed. Upon destruction of the G.E.M.erator all stored gems are dropped except the last supplied gem. When the G.E.M.erator gets dismantled, all stored gems are dropped.

Skill Upgrades

G.E.M.erators can receive different upgrades depending on the skills Winona has mastered:

Energy-Saver	Gadgets placed by a Winona with this skill will no longer use energy from G.E.M.erators while they are in sleep mode.
Greater Generator I	G.E.M.erators placed by a Winona with this skill will boost their efficiency by 25%.
Greater Generator II	G.E.M.erators placed by a Winona with this skill will boost their efficiency by 50%.
Greater Generator III	G.E.M.erators placed by a Winona with this skill will boost their efficiency by 100%.
Enlightened G.E.M.erator	Winona with this skill can fuel G.E.M.erators with Enlightened Shards.
Brilliance G.E.M.erator	Winona with this skill can fuel G.E.M.erators with Pure Brilliance. Catapults in the range of such a G.E.M.erators will deal 30 physical damage and 17 planar damage, and also +10% damage to Shadow Aligned creatures.

Trivia

• Winona's G.E.M.erator, alongside her other gadgets and the Engineering Tab, was introduced in her Character Update as part of the character overhaul for Don't Starve Together.
  • With the Skill Spotlight: Wurt & Winona update, build G.E.M.erators can be dismantled into an item and also be crafted as an item, making them portable (only, if Winona has mastered the Portability skill). Also, some G.E.M.erator-related skills were added.
• According to Rhymes With Play #228, Winona's G.E.M.erator was supposed to be a battery, but was rather named a G.E.M.erator partly because of the wordplay.
