Don't Starve Wiki

So, after messing around a bit with Don't Starve Together mods and playing some original Don't Starve, I have come to the conclusion that not only does this mod deserve official recognition, it deserves a seat in Don't Starve lore.

I have never seen a mod that drastically overhauls the way this game plays. But enough gushing about how great the mod is, let's get to the character DLC I believe needs to be added. But these are all my personal additions, so if you have anything to add or say, please let me know

Obviously, the new character is Bill

The Flashlight is a new light item, that projects light in a cone in the direction the wielder faces. It has equivalent durability of Willow's Lighter. He also has the exclusive crafting recipe for both Flashlights and Batteries. A battery completely replenishes the durability of a Flashlight.

He has seen it all, meaning Insanity auras have a reduced effect on him, but so do Sanity auras and Sanity restoring clothing. The exact value is yet to be determined. Bill will also restore his Sanity to 100% after killing a Screecher.

"They" obviously refers to the Screechers, who will only spawn if a Bill is present in-game. Screechers spawn at around the same frequency as Hounds, but they only spawn at night and the evening.

If there is more than one Bill present in-game, Screecher spawns will not increase in frequency.

The Screecher is the new boss mob in this fictional DLC. The Screecher is a mob that will only spawn in certain set pieces, and if someone is playing Bill. The Screecher will spawn in the evening and at night. Screechers will not spawn on a Full Moon.

Screechers will instant kill whoever they lunge at. The lunge is silent on startup, but there is a loud screech once the creature initiates the attack, similar to Charlie, which gives aware players the chance to dodge. The Screecher will vanish during the daytime, but will not regenerate health, so if you damage a Screecher, the next time that that specific Screecher appears, it will be at the same health.

Players killed by the Screecher will not be turned into ghosts. Instead, the Screecher that kill a player will spend 30 seconds attempting to turn the dead player into another Screecher. The process can be interrupted if the Screecher is damaged in any way, causing it to run off.

Players turned into Screechers or were saved from conversion will THEN turn into ghosts, and can be revived by conventional means. Screechers that spawn from dead players will have certain abilities inherited from their past selves.

Wilson: Basic Screecher

Willow: Fire Immune Screecher

Wolfgang: Screecher speed is increased depending on the form that Wolfgang died in. Hence, a wimpy Wolfgang that died will weaken the Screecher

Wendy: Screecher that attacks with the help of Abigail, but is frailer as a result.

WX-78: Health and movement speed increased based on the upgrade level of WX-78. Hence, if upgrade level is low, the Screecher is weakened

Woodie: Can appear during a Full Moon with a random Were-transformation

Wickerbottom: Basic Screecher

Maxwell: Screecher does a short channel, then spawns 2 additional Shadow Screechers. Shadow Screechers don't have the instant kill capacity or the health of a normal Screecher, but can still do a sizeable chunk of damage. The Maxwell Screecher also has very low health for Screechers.

Wigfrid: Screecher heals fully after killing a player

Webber: Spiders will assist the Screecher

Warley: Screecher is buffed by Volt Goat Jelly

Wortox: Screecher can soul-hop

Wormwood: 2 Treeguards will spawn in once the Screecher initiates an encounter.

This is W.I.P, but please feel free to leave constructive criticism.
