Spelunking Bug

Okay, so it was day 20. just a regular day preparing for winter. I thought i would go on a short term spelunking trip to see my bunnyman freinds. however, when i went spelunking, i did not go into the cave, I.E. the screen went back and i ended back up at the cave entrance. when i examine the cave entrance it says "Spelunk Deeper". when i save and quit, it said my world was Cave Depth 1. saving and quitting had no effect. any help?
