Trinkets are a group of Items that can be found around the Constant through various means such as digging up Graves using a Shovel , picking Tumbleweeds , befriending Catcoons , trading fish with the King of the Merms , fishing in the Oasis , smashing Ancient Pseudoscience Stations with a hammer or salvaging Ocean Debris .
Generally, the only use for Trinkets in Don't Starve Pig King or Yaarctopus in exchange for Gold Nuggets , and for decoration. In Don't Starve Together Antlion in the Summer to obtain Desert Stones .
Some trinkets have special uses in DLCs:

Gord's Knot has a 4.17% chance of being found when digging up a grave. Gord's Knot is a reference to the story in which Alexander the Great was told that whoever could complete the impossible challenge of disentangling Gordian's Knot and release the tethered cart would rule all of Asia. He released the cart by cutting the Knot with a knife, and went on to conquer much of Asia Minor, before his army rebelled. It has since become a metaphor for solving a complex problem with a simple solution, by thinking outside of the box.

Reign of Giants [ ] In the Reign of Giants Tumbleweeds or vomited from a Catcoon . They can also be given to a Catcoon to befriend it.
Moleworms will pick up Trinkets if laying on the ground, however they will drop the items when killed.
