Shouldn't we rename the Skins page to "Curios", seeing as this is apparently the official name for in-game items now? Much like how The Constant got its name.
What do you guys think?
From my understanding, "Curios" (or "Curio Items") is the collective term for all cosmetics you can obtain in DST. So this includes not only Skins, but also Belongings, Portrait Frames, Profile Icons, Vignettes, Emoticons and certain Emotes. We have a navigation template that connects all those articles and adds a Curios category to them, as well as an overview Curio Cabinet page (that has a redirect from "Curios" pointing to it).
In light of this, I'd not be in favor of renaming the Skins page (unless my understanding of how these items are organized in the game is proven wrong, of course).

I see. That makes sense, I'm convinced "Curios" does indeed refer to all items collectively, also seeing as all of them, equippable items or not, are viewable/accessible from the Curio Cabinet. But I still don't feel like "Skins" is the proper name for the clothing items. Ever since the feature became established after the events, I've never really heard the devs refer to them as such. There must be, for lack of a better term, an 'official' name for them.
Well, at the end of the day the name isn't hurting. It just doesn't feel accurate, is all. But I think it should also be kept in mind that the wiki does have a significant influence on what something that lacks an immediately obvious name is called among the community. Take Set Pieces for example, they were given nicknames but eventually said nicknames became widely recognized as actual names for each set piece, despite the disclaimer at the top.
So that also raises the concern that the wiki could cement the name as the widely recognized one, even though it could be completely wrong.
I see your point, it reflects a previous discussion I had with Bluegeist about the naming of Biome pages. We could also name the page "Wardrobe" since that's what the menu is called in the Curio Cabinet ingame. That would be the most official name I can think of, but it could lead to some confusion with the craftable structure.

I agree that we should try to find the canon names for things and name them accordingly. I've been fine with the skins page name since it is what most fans refer to them, however we have been moving skins out to their own pages (Belongings, Vignettes, etc), so yeah, changing the name to refer to the clothes specifically makes more sense now. Maybe we could use a disambiguation page to differentiate the Wardrobes?
By the way, I made a Template for conjecture, for use on pages that use non-canon names in the absence of official names: Template:Conjecture
Strongly support the Conjecture template and Neutral on renaming the Skins page!

Support for the Conjecture template. This will come in handy!
As for the rename, I'm now backing away from initial proposal, since it's now apparent there is no actual name for us to replace "Skins" with yet, now that I know "Curios" seems to refer to all items. As for renaming it to "Wardrobe", I Oppose, as this name doesn't seem to make much sense from an article title standpoint, plus the potential confusion with the structure even though a disambiguation page will probably solve that.
Guess we should leave "Skins" as it is for now. There doesn't seem to be a 'proper' name for them yet.
