“My pride and joy!”

Surfboard is a Boat item in the Shipwrecked DLC, and is exclusive to Walani. Walani starts the game with it in her inventory and is the only character able to craft it. It can be crafted with 1 Boards and 2 Seashell from the Nautical Tab. While Surfboard does not require prototyping, Boards do require a Science Machine to prototype. However, Boards can also be obtained by Hammering Crates, allowing more Surfboards to be crafted before building a Science Machine. Surfboards that were placed in water can be picked up, making them useful in exploration.

It has ×1.5 the sailing speed of a Raft but has ×0.5 the durability of one, enough for sailing two days. Surfboard does not require paddling, so Walani can hold tools (including Torches) while surfing. A Cargo Boat with a Cloth Sail has the same speed as the Surfboard but an Armoured Boat is faster.

It gives 1 each time Walani rides a Wave and ×5 speed boosts from Waves. It will suffer ×1.5 Wetness penalty from hitting Waves, but will not decrease any damage to its durability from impacts with Waves.

Bugs

• Fully chopping down a Mangrove Tree while on her Surfboard may cause a crash.
• Chunks of her Surfboard may appear on land if the Surfboard reaches half durability, and this will also occur if Prime Apes take a surfboard at said durability or below.
