The Straw Roll allows the character to skip the night phase. It will be destroyed after one use, as well as conveying a 75 point hunger penalty.

Straw Rolls cannot be used in "dangerous" areas (such as areas near a Spider Nest or within the Swamp Biome), when the character is in combat, when Abigail or other monsters are near, or Hounds are approaching. Otherwise, it may be used at any point during the dusk or night phases to advance to the beginning of the next day.

Use of a straw roll is ill advised if the player does not have an expansive Grass farm. 9 Cut Grass can be difficult to harvest otherwise, or may consume a majority of a day, rendering its effect useless. However using a Straw Roll is a good way to regenerate sanity if you're getting low.

Crafting a Straw Roll requires 6 Cut Grass and 1 Rope.

Bugs

• If you use a straw roll and then have your character examine it, your character will not sleep, instead, they will just lie on the mat.

• If you use a straw roll in total darkness, the night monster will kill you in your sleep even though the game skips to day.
