Steam Trading Cards are virtual collectibles acquired by playing games on Steam. Card drops are random, and only half of a deck is obtainable through drops. Once collected, an entire deck can be crafted to earn Steam Profile Backgrounds, Steam Chat Emoticons, Coupons, and Steam XP. Once the player has reached Steam Level 10, they have a small chance to receive foil trading cards, which have no extra benefits, aside from rarity. All items that are received from crafting a badge are tradable and marketable, except coupons, which are only tradable.
