A Snakeskin Hat is a craftable Dress Item introduced in the Shipwrecked DLC. It is the DLC's version of the Rain Hat. It requires 1 Snakeskin, 1 Straw Hat, and 1 Bone Shard to craft and an Alchemy Engine or Sea Lab to prototype. The Sewing Kit repairs 62.5% of its durability.

When worn during Rain, it protects against Wetness gain by 70%. Additionally, it insulates the player against Lightning strikes and the electric shocks of Jellyfish.

Hamlet

The Snakeskin Hat is also included in the Hamlet DLC, however, it has a very different appearance as Snakeskin is obtained from Vipers. It is especially useful by offering protection against Lightning strikes produced by Thunderbirds.
