The Shadow Reaper is a craftable Melee Weapon and tool Item exclusive to Don't Starve Together, introduced in the From Beyond updates. It can be crafted at the Shadowcraft Plinth with 3 Pure Horror and 1 Dark Tatters.

As a tool, Shadow Reaper can harvest all pickable resources with one swing within a 1-square radius of the turf, with the exception of small things like Mushrooms and Flowers. There is no limit to how many plants can be harvested at once, as long as they are in range.  

As a weapon, the Shadow Reaper deals 38 normal damage and 18 Planar Damage (total damage 56). These values are increased if the Void Cowl is equipped: normal damage is increased by 10% to 41.8 points, and planar damage is increased by 9 to 27 (total damage 68.8). Furthermore, the Void Cowl increases the planar damage by 4 everytime you hit an enemy, stackable up to 5 times, for a total of 20 additional damage after 5 consecutive hits. At this point, the damage of the Reaper will be 88.8. The bonus disappears if the Character removes the hood, does not attack for 3 seconds, or gets hit.

In addition, the Shadow Reaper deals 10% more damage to Lunar Aligned Mobs.

When the Shadow Reaper durability is exhausted, it will not break, but instead can no longer be equipped until repaired. Using a Void Repair Kit will restore the durability to 100%.

It is a level 3 item for Maxwell's Shadow Puppets.

It counts as a shadow weapon for Wanda, applying her 1.2 or 1.75 damage multipliers for being middle aged or old respectively, only to the weapons regular 38 damage.

Tips

• It is possible to reach 217-246 total damage as Wolfgang when mighty, wearing the Void Cowl and Void Robe, when under Warly's 1.2 times damage Chili Flakes effect, and if all 3 shadow affinity and all 5 planar damage increasing skills are active in Wolfgang's Insight.
  • This damage however only applies on lunar aligned mobs and makes this weapon the best for fighting the Celestial Champion.

Trivia

• The Shadow Reaper was introduced in the Terrors Below update.
• The blade of the Shadow Reaper resembles the head of a Terrorbeak.
• The quotes while held indicate the the Shadow Reaper used to be a farmer of some kind before turning into what they are now, potentially referring to the Ancients "shedding their skin" depicted in the Atrium's ancient murals.
• The red cloth and shadowy form of this item and other shadow aligned items in the Terrors Below update resemble the Ancient Herald.
