Seaworthy is a structure that spawns naturally in Shipwrecked DLC, and can be crafted in Reign of Giants DLC and the base game, when Shipwrecked DLC is available. It allows the player to travel between a Shipwrecked world and Reign of Giants or base game world. Outside of Shipwrecked DLC, it requires 4 Nightmare Fuels, 4 Living Logs and the Sea Worther to craft, and a Shadow Manipulator to prototype.
After activating the Seaworthy, players can generate a Shipwrecked or Reign of Giants/base game world that they can travel back and forth to in a similar manner to caves, depending on what world they started in originally. In order to be crafted outside of a Shipwrecked world, the player must agree with an on-screen prompt when generating a new RoG/base game world to make it compatible with Shipwrecked.
Alternatively, the player can find the Seaworthy already generated in a Shipwrecked world and link it with an existing Reign of Giants or base game world. After the link, the two worlds act as one combined save file with the Shipwrecked character taking over the combined world. This link cannot be undone. If the Shipwrecked world is linked to an existing Reign of Giants or the base game save, the existing player character in the linked world will be removed and replaced with a Grave. This grave can be dug with a Shovel to retrieve the items carried by the removed character.
Since seasons pass by normally in the linked worlds, one can use Seaworthy to skip seasons if they so wish by simply going through the portal and waiting in the other world. For example, if Dry Season were to start in a Shipwrecked world, the player could gather their things and go to their Don't Starve/Reign of Giants world until it's over.
- Players should be aware that, as stated by the patch notes, as of "Wilbur Vs. the Volcano" update this feature is buggy and unstable. Attempting to use it can cause losing saved games.
- Before it was implemented in the "Wilbur vs. The Volcano" update Malfunctioning Novelty Ride was used as a placeholder for Seaworthy.
- When travelling through Seaworthy, a distorted version of the Summer/Autumn work theme can be heard briefly.
