The Salt Box is a craftable Structure exclusive to Don't Starve Together, introduced in Return of Them. It is found in the Food Tab, requiring ten Salt Crystals, a Blue Gem and a Cut Stone to craft, and an Alchemy Engine to prototype.

Similar to the Ice Box, the Salt Box can be used to store and preserve up to 9 stacks of Food Items. However, it cannot contain Crock Pot dishes, plantable items such as Seeds, and items that do not have a cooked form, such as Honey or Ice. The Salt Box reduces the spoilage rate of items stored inside it by 75%, ensuring that they will last four times as long before spoiling.

Trivia

• Salt Box was introduced in the Salty Dog beta update.
• Ironically, you cannot store jerky in the salt box, as salt is added to further preserve jerky in real life.
