The Portasol is an item exclusive to Don't Starve Together, introduced in the Skill Spotlight Updates. It can only be crafted by Winona with 4 Trusty Tapes, 4 Electrical Doodads, 4 Twigs, and 1 Gizmo after learning the Founder's Keepers II skill and scanning the corresponding Unstable Transmission with a Calibrated Perceiver.
Usage[]
Winona can use the Portasol to teleport to the nearest powered Teletransport Station. When using it while standing within 2m of the center of Teletransport Station, approximately the circle pad, she will teleport to the next powered Teletransport Station. It is not possible to teleport between the surface and the Caves.
Items, that can possibly be picked up, within 1.84m of Winona will also get teleported. The items include dropped items, heavy object like Lunar Altars, mobs that can possibly be put into inventory, like Spiders and Moleworm.
She can also teleport while riding a Beefalo.
Every use reduces the durability by 6.7%, so the Portasol can be used up to 15 times before its durability reaches 0%. It can be recharged by dropping it in the range of Winona's Generator or Winona's G.E.M.erator. When dropped in range, the bulb at the top of the Portasol will light up and a cable becomes visible on the side of the Portasol leading into the ground. A full recharge takes 8 minutes (or 4 minutes after learning the Quick Charge skill). When fully charged, the light of the Portasol will turn off.
The Portasol can also be equipped by any Character to gain 35% Wetness protection and protection from Lightning. In this regard the Portasol has a durability of 15 days.
Trivia[]
- The Portasol was added in the Skill Spotlight: Wurt & Winona update.
- The Portasol is inspired by Wagstaff's Telebrella from Don't Starve, but does not have a limitation to its teleport range.
