It's... it's beautiful.

The Pick/Axe is a tool that can be used as both a Pickaxe and an Axe. It has as much durability as the Luxury Axe and Opulent Pickaxe, depending on its usage. It also works 33% better than its standard one-function counterparts. The Luxury Axe and Opulent Pickaxe used in the recipe can be in any condition without affecting the durability of the resulting Pick/Axe.

A Small Evergreen will take 4 chops instead of 5.
A Medium Evergreen will take 8 chops instead of 10.
A Large Evergreen will take 12 chops instead of 15.

The same conditions also apply to mining, demolishing standard Boulders in 5 hits instead of 6.

It should be noted that the amount of uses necessary on most smaller items will look equivalent to a 20% buff instead of 33% - this is because the game rounds down percentages instead of rounding up on calculations regarding durability. Conversely, the game will round up when calculating the amount of hits an object takes to destroy. Simple example: a tree takes 6 hits to fell with a standard axe, and the Pick/Axe gives a 33% buff; then: 6(normal hits) * 0.67(amount of hit reduction) = 4.02 buffed hits required. Because of the .02 overage, it will take one more full hit to fell the tree.
