–Wurt
Petals are a Vegetable Food Item obtained by picking Flowers, which are commonly found in Grassland Biomes. They restore 5 Sanity when picked and 1 Health point when eaten. Like other vegetables, they can be fed to Pigs to produce Manure. No variant of petals may be used in a Crock Pot.
Petals can be used to craft the Garland, a Headwear item which restores Sanity over time, the Whirly Fan which slows overheating when walking, and the Pretty Parasol which offers a little bit of rain protection. Petals are also used to decorate Wendy's Sisturn to activate its +25 Sanity / min aura, and increase the regeneration rate of Abigail's health pool.
Dark Petals[]
–Wurt
Evil Flowers yield Dark Petals when picked, for a cost of 5 sanity. A Tumbleweed has a 0.2% chance to have Dark Petals as any one of it's 3 items. In and , Dark Petals can be obtained by trading trinkets and meats at the Sunken Boat. A Deconstruction Staff can be used on Nightmare Fuel (presumably dropped by a shadow creature and not constructed from Dark Petals) to yield Dark Petals, but this costs 1/4 Green Gem, 1/2 a Nightmare Fuel, and 20 sanity.
Dark Petals drain 5 Sanity points when eaten (not affected by freshness). 4 can be used to craft one Nightmare Fuel at a Prestihatitator. During the Hallowed Nights event in , one is required to craft the Psychosis Experiment.
