Monster Meat is dropped by hostile Monsters. Some of the enemies that drop Monster Meat are Hounds, Spiders, and Werepigs. When eaten, Monster Meat damages the player, but restores hunger.
Raw Monster Meat can be a great resource of food if eaten with roasted seeds. The monster meat removes 5 points of health but the roasted seeds reduces that to 1 point. Therefore, you get 41 points of hunger back from eating the two at the cost of only 1 point of health. It's also relatively easy to acquire if you have a spider den nearby because many spiders live in just one.
Cooked monster meat can be given to the Science machine for 12 research points. When used in a Crock Pot, monster meat will restore the player's health. To see recipes that include monster meat, click here.
