I'm not sure if I got it right. The idea is: going thought the 3776 photos and editing them, adding them to the Image category and any other image subcategory they may belong to? There are very few subcategories, as far as I can see. Also, how can I know if they are "Fairuse"? Isn't that copyright related? (And what is the heading "licensing" part for? What's that code doing?).
Ok, I think I get an aproximate idea, although I'm not sure what's the criteria... some of the pictures contain objects or characters, but Dirtytabs only added the them to the general Image category, while in others he added them to the object or character subcategory.
Also, what pictures should I be categorizing? New ones? Or should I go through old ones following some method?
My (non existant) images and those taken from Wikipedia, are easy.
Images of public domain, I start to be uncertain. Some I see easy, but others, I can't guess.
And what about wallpapers and other images used to promote the game (that are not screenshots or ingame images or icons). Are they Fair Use, or has Klei given permission to use that copyrighted material?
And I have no idea how other Creative Commons and other free licenses work (I'm not an expert on Fair Use either, it's not even a law of my own country!).
So basically everything from Klei and the game goes in Fair Use, Wikipedia in their own category... and fanart and non-Klei stuff, none.
Is there any way to check what images are uncategorized to add them? Because randomly reviewing the thousands of photos looking for the uncategorized ones... Maybe you could program something in the wiki so it dumps every non-categorized-yet picture in a place where we can go through them adding categories?
I've been placing badges in icons for easier finding, but they are a few, so I nominate it as possible image subcategory. So having two small subs icons and badges separated, or a little bigger one as it is joined together.
Also, you might want to consider a map subcategory (including map icons, or not), because those are a quite a few too, and they have icons, as well as representing characters + items + objects...
