The Lake is a feature exclusive to Don't Starve Together, introduced in A New Reign. It is a large body of water that spawns in its own Desert Set Piece called the Oasis.
During any Seasons other than Summer, the Lake will be dry and unusable. Players can walk over it during this time.
During Summer, the Lake will fill up with water. By using a Fishing Rod, Freshwater Fish and Crumpled Packages can be caught at any time of Day. There are 15 Fish or Packages, and one is refilled every 90 seconds. The chance of getting a Fish is 40%, and getting a Package is 60%. Fishing takes 4 seconds, with 2.4 seconds added for every fish missing from the Lake.
Three Fireflies naturally spawn around the center of the Lake when it fills every Summer, illuminating it at night. They are not catchable while the Lake is full of water.
Tips[edit | edit source]
- Making a small outpost near the Oasis can be beneficial as players may need to stay at the Lake for long periods of time to fish out the various rare Blueprints only obtainable through Crumpled Packages.
- The Oasis is also a viable place to build a Summer base, as plants and structures will not smolder and cause Wildfires throughout the entire surrounding Desert biome. This also gives players easy access to Cactus Flowers and the Antlion, as long as they have obtained Desert Goggles to counter the constant Sandstorm.
Trivia[edit | edit source]
- The Lake was added in the Against The Grain update.
- Items dropped on the dried Lake will be pushed off to the edge so that they may still be picked up after it fills with water.
- The Lake is the only renewable source of Fireflies.
Bugs[edit | edit source]
- The Lake may dry up after filling on the first day of Summer if it Rains. Once rain stops falling, this unexpected change is reversed.
- In DST, if an item is placed on a dry lake, it will be quickly pushed to the edges of the lake.
