“Better gnat go near those guys.”
The Gnat Swarm is a Mob exclusive to the Hamlet DLC.
Behavior
It takes the form of a swarm of bugs that will chase and attach itself to the player character's head. It cannot be killed with weapons and will decrease the player's sanity and deal low damage (1) over time. It will follow the player until it finds a new target.
The swarm isn't a status effect, but is an actual entity that is flying around the player. This makes it so that force attacking will always target the Gnat Swarm, making combat with other Mobs difficult.
When dusk comes, they will be attracted to light sources.
