Food items and structures range in a degree of their necessity. While Crock Pot is suggested to be built (often more than one) as early as possible to last long making it essential, other items such as Ice Box or Drying Rack help in survival a lot, making them very useful although not as essential.

Reign of Giants

In the Reign of Giants DLC, the player can now craft Bucket-o-poops in the Food Tab.

Shipwrecked

In the Shipwrecked DLC, the player can now craft Mussel Sticks in the Food Tab.

Don't Starve Together

In Don't Starve Together, the player can now craft Mushroom Planters in the Food Tab.
