The Fashion Melon is a Dress item in the Reign of Giants DLC. It is used to cool off the player to prevent overheating. In addition it grants moderate protection against overheating. While worn, it will drain the player's sanity by 2 points per minute. The Fashion Melon does not have a durability, instead rotting after a few days, similar to the Ham Bat and the Garland. It requires 1 Watermelon and 3 Twigs to craft. Despite providing some protection from the rain, the Fashion Melon will gradually increase the player's wetness up to a maximum of 33.

Wearing the Fashion Melon while playing with WX-78 will cause the player to take damage periodically.
