The Fashion Melon is a wearable Dress item in the Reign of Giants DLC. It requires 1 Watermelon and 3 Twigs to craft and a Science Machine to prototype.
It grants 120 points of protection from Overheating and will drain the player's Sanity by 2 points per minute. Despite providing some protection from Rain, the Fashion Melon will gradually increase the player's Wetness up to a maximum of 33. The Fashion Melon does not have a durability, but instead rots after 3 days, similar to the Ham Bat, Garland, and Ice Cube.
Wearing the Fashion Melon while playing with WX-78 will cause the player to take damage periodically.

The Fashion Melon is also included in the Shipwrecked DLC, where it is required to deal with Overheating during the Dry Season. It works exactly as it does in the Reign of Giants DLC.
