Dogfish are passive Mobs found in the Shipwrecked DLC. They can be seen across the Ocean on their own, or in abundance in Coral Reefs. When the player's boat approaches a Dogfish's shadow, it will surface and attempt to swim away, before retreating to the water once more.
When a Dead Dogfish is left to spoil, it will turn in to a Spoiled Fish. Placing a Dead Dogfish inside normal or fat Packim Baggims will cause Packim to eat it and spit out a Spoiled Fish.
Dead Dogfish can be used as an ingredient in the Crock Pot, contributing 1 fish and 0.5 meat value.
Fighting Strategy
Dogfishes swim fairly fast and will avoid the player. They can be killed easily using a Spear Gun, a normal Spear thrown by the Spear Gun deals enough damage to kill the Dogfish in a single shot for characters without reduced damage modifiers. Alternatively, they can be chased towards a shore and cornered there, allowing them to be killed with melee Weapons. Below is the number of hits it takes with each weapon to kill a Dogfish when playing with characters with a default damage modifier. The Weather Pain is not included due to the random nature of its projectile.
