Combat is a Gameplay mechanism components allow Players or Mobs fight each other and reduces the health of each other.
Damage Modifiers[]
Damage Multiplier[]
Damage Multiplier is the most common Damage Modifier, although they are internally divided into many categories, they are not considered necessary because they are multiplicative calculations and have the same effective scope. Examples include the character damage multipliers of Wigfrid, Wolfgang, Wendy, and Wes; the vulnerability debuff from Abigail; electrical damage bonuses; and the bonus from W.A.R.B.I.S. Head Gear. These multipliers apply only to physical damage.
Tag Damage Modifiers[]
See also: Lunar Aligned and Shadow Aligned.
This is a Damage Modifier that takes effect based on the Tags opponent mobs or characters has, and works on both Physical Damage and Planar Damage, currently it is only used in Shadow and Lunar Aligned.
Physical Damage[]
Physical Damage is the most common type of damage in the game, and its main feature is that it is absorbed by Armor.
If it's caused by a Mobs or Characters, it's affected by the all kind of Damage Modifiers they have.
Physical Damage also can be reduced by Damage Reduction like all kind of damage.
Planar Damage[]
Note: The community has been rather divided on how planar statistics function and this has resulted in frequent editing of this page. Please refer to this video explaining the math equations for planar statistics for a visual explanation if needed.
Planar Damage is a unique type of damage dealt by some mobs and weapons. Similar to Physical Damage, it can be absorbed by Armor, but the amount absorbed depends on the Armor's Planar Defense properties, not its Protection properties. Planar damage also can be reduced by Damage Reduction like all kind of damage.
Planar Damage is the easiest damage type the player can deal, other than Physical Damage. This makes it particularly effective in the deal with Planar Entity Protection.
If it's caused by Mobs or Characters, Planar damage is only affected by Tag Damage Modifiers they have, and no other forms of damage modifiers. Factors such as Wendy's lower damage, Wolfgang's mighty form damage, or Chili Flakes's damage increase do not affect planar damage.
Only the Bone Armor's shield is capable of completely nullifying received planar damage. The Thulecite Crown's forcefield (100% Protection) will not affect planar damage.
Some armor, notably the Brightshade Helm set and the Void Cowl, will provide increases to planar damage when they are worn.
