Wendy Portrait
It was flopping around desperately for life. The poor fool.

Wendy, when examining a Coï.

The Coï is a Fish exclusive to Don't Starve: Hamlet DLC. It can be dropped by a Kingfisher or when hammering the "Tasteful Fish Mounting" that serves as a Wall Decoration in the Slanty Shanty.

Coï can be dried on the Drying Rack for 1 day to produce Small Jerky, and can be used in the Crock Pot to yield Fishsticks and Fish Tacos.

When hovering the mouse on it, the player can simply read : "Fish". However, it is called "Coï" in the game files.

Cooked Coï

Webber Portrait
Flaky and moist. Delicious.

Webber, when examining a Cooked Coï.

Cooked Coï is obtained by cooking Coï at a Campfire or Fire Pit. Just as the normal Fish, the Cooked Coï restore the same amount of hunger and health than its raw version, with however a shorter spoilage time.

Mosquito Bugs

  • The Coï misses its own drying rack animation. So when drying, it will be an ordinary Fish that will be displayed instead.

Placeholder Trivia

  • The Coï "seems to" be the exact same object as the Fish, but with another sprite, especially made for the Hamlet DLC. It has the same spawn code, the same food restoring values, the same examination quotes, and can be put in the crock pot to yield the exact same recipes.
  • The sprite of the Coï might be a reference to Magikarp, a Pokemon species.
