The Clockwork Knight is a monster introduced in the "A Little Rain Must Fall" update that is strategically placed for maximum pain and protecting some of the Things.[1]
Behaviour
Their main purpose is to guard some of the Things in the world. When disturbed, the knight will begin to charge at the player, using its springed neck to do a headbutt when it gets close.
The Knight will attempt to kite the player after attacking but does so very poorly. Since they do a charging motion every time they are about to attack the player, you can get 1-3 easy hits if timed correctly.
The Knight cannot be stun locked and does not respawn.
Drops
The Knight is currently the only mob to drop Gears.
Strategy
The easiest way to kill it is to kite it. It is best to kite them one at a time as they will run away after attacking.
Befriending at least 5 pigs can easily kill all the knights around the Wooden Thing and even less pigs for other Teleportato pieces.
