–Wurt
A Bunnyman is a Mob that spawns from a Rabbit Hutch. They can be found in the Caves, often in groups. They are a vital source of Bunny Puff.
Appearance[]
Bunnymen are humanoid rabbit creatures with white furring covering their body, completely red eyes, Two white buck teeth, a little fuzzy white tails, and two long fur covered ears. They have a sort of hunchback to them and usually stand on two small and short legs and have their hands on their chest.
Behavior[]
They exit Rabbit Hutch at the start of Dusk and returns to their Rabbit Hutch at dawn or during Acid Rain. Bunnymen respawn from their Rabbit Hutches after 8 minutes. Bunnyman sleeps on the ground during Day.
Bunnymen flee when they have less than 67 Health. Bunnymen regenerate 8.67 Health every 5 seconds.
Bunnymen target, within 16m, Wonkey or Monster, such as Spiders, Batilisks, Webber, Wortox, wearer of Spiderhat. They share their attack target to 5 Bunnymen within 30m. These Bunnymen then relay to share their attack target too, leading to the entire pack of Bunnymen targeting. They chase for up to 10 second, or when their target is 30m away.
Bunnymen target any player, within 8m, with Meats or Eggs in their inventory or backpack, The Meats include CrockPot dishes and Woodie's kitchy idols. The exceptions are when the Meats are wrapped with bundling wrap, inside WIlson's Beard or Polar Bearger Bin. Neutral Bunnyman will incite befriended Bunnymen to become hostile if the neutral Bunnyman targeted the player with meat. However, Bunnymen won't attack Chester, Hutch or Woby (in DST) if he is carrying Meat food items, nor will they attack the player for carrying a Ham Bat or Fish.
When a Bunnyman is attacked, 5 Bunnymen within 30m will help. These helpers share their attack target, leading to the entire pack of Bunnymen to help. Strangely, they will do the same if a Pig is attacked
If the player, with at least 1 befriended Bunnyman, attacks another Bunnyman, this usually leads to the entire pack Bunnymen to target the targeted Bunnyman as that befriended Bunnyman has shared the attack target through relay. However, Some Bunnyman may occasionally be out of the relay chain because they were too far or busy. Hence, when the targeted Bunnyman is attacked, these left out Bunnyman would help defend the targeted Bunnyman and may end up getting some Bunnymen on their side; this situation would endanger the player if the player did not cancel his attack, and start a Bunnymen civil war.
Players can befriend Bunnymen by giving them a Carrot, or Roasted Carrot, or using One-man Band. The Bunnyman will then follow the player, for food hunger points × 19.2 seconds. The befriended timer can be stacked up to 20 minutes. The food hunger points are affected by freshness. For example, feeding 1 Carrot to a Bunnyman will befriend it for 4 minutes. When befriended, Bunnymen will have a Sanity aura of 25/min. Bunnyman are only able to accept carrot if there their befriended timer is less than 18 minutes.
Bunnymen are attracted by veggies on the floor within 10m and will attempt to consume them. Examples include Carrots, Powdercakes, Birchnuts, and Glow Berries.
Beardlord[]
When a character's Sanity drops below 40% (40 to 120 for WX-78, 100 for Wickerbottom and Maxwell, 60 for Wes and Wortox, 48 for Willow, 40 for Webber, and 80 for all other characters), Bunnymen will become Beardlords. Beardlords are a good source of Beard Hair.
Beardlords has higher damage. Additionally, they will have an insanity aura of -40 /min and will only flee from battle when their health is less than 50. Beardlords will not go back to their houses at daybreak until they've turned back into Bunnymen.
Beardlords can be befriended with a Carrot in the same manner as normal Bunnymen, but they drain Sanity when close to the player due to the insanity aura.
Appearance[]
Beardlord are Bunnymen but their white fur becomes black and shadowy. Beardlord keep the white buck teeth and red eyes of a Bunnymen.
In this form, they make raspy, distorted growling noises, rather than their normal gurgling sounds. They will also periodically display a growling animation, where they show their teeth and raise their arms in a threatening manner. Despite their frightening appearance and behavior, Beardlords are neutral creatures, like Bunnymen.
They will run with raised arms, similar to the chasing pattern of a Werepig. In addition, when attacking enemies, Beardlords will use an overhand clawing motion similar to the way a Werepig attacks.
Don't Starve Together[]
In Don't Starve Together, Beardlord are usually only reskinned regular Bunnyman. Their attack damage and behaviour mostly remain the same as regular Bunnyman, except for their sanity aura.
Beardlord will only drop Beard Hair if it is killed by a player, or their befriended mobs, who is below 40% sanity, otherwise, they drop the same items as a regular Bunnyman.
Hunting[]
A player can hit twice before moving slightly to dodge their attack. A strong weapon with at least 50 damage is recommended because Bunnyman flee. The strong weapon allows player to kill the Bunnyman before they can flee. Fleeing Bunnyman can be killed when cornered or when they sleep in the day.
To deal with big group of Bunnymen, player can use a carrot to befriend a Bunnyman, and then do a fake attack on another. Nearby Bunnymen will join to kill the targeted Bunnyman. A Bunnymen civil war may start which automatically decimate the Bunnymen, otherwise, the player can repeatedly fake attack on other Bunnyman. Directly fighting big groups of Bunnymen is unadvised due to their high damage, high running speed and grouping behaviour.
Farming[]
A single Rabbit Hutch can be farmed using fire in Don't Starve single player. The Rabbit Hutch is surrounded with sufficient Hay Wall and then a single layer of Stone Wall. An Ice Flingomatic covers the Hay Wall to ensure the Hay Wall does not burn out. The Hay Walls are then ignited to start the farm. Bunnyman will be burnt by the intermittent fire and the fire causes the Rabbit Hutch to immediately respawn Bunnyman.
Rabbit Hutch can be place next to Mermhouses. Only carrots will be consumed by survivors. Walls are not required, as both mobs are highly aggressive towards each other and both come out at dusk. There should be no Spider Den nearby to avoid Spider eating the Bunny Puff.
Group of Bunnyman can be killed with civil war.
Bunnymen can be baited into an enclosed area and then killed with area effect such as fire, catapult or Lunar flame.
Don't Starve Together[]
Since the Reap What You Sow update, Bunnyman drops are greatly reduced to either a Carrot with a 37.5% chance, a meat with a 37.5% chance, or a Bunny Puff with a 25% chance.

Trivia[]
- The Bunnyman was added in the Underground update.
- After The November Performance update, Bunnymen no longer attack a player with a Ham Bat.
- Bunnymen are the fourth Mob that share the body shape of Pigs. The others are Merms, Werebeaver, MacTusk family, and Wildbores. This model has been nicknamed 'hunchback'.
- When examining a Rabbit Hole, Wilson says: "That must lead to the kingdom of the bunnymen." This might have been an inspiration for the Bunnymen.
- According to Wickerbottom (while examining a Bunny Puff), Bunnymen use their tails for balance.
- During the Twitch.tv preview stream of the caves, Kevin (Klei's lead programmer) said that Pigs and Bunnymen would probably fight each other. This behavior was never implemented, however.
- Many of the friendly Bunnyman names are either plants (e.g. Brassica = cabbage, Celeriac = celery-root, Pimpernel/Tragopogon = flowers, Psoralea = tumbleweed) or elements of the periodic table (some lacking the -ium suffix (e.g. Dyspros, Europia, Gadolin, Lanthan, Neo/Praseodymia, Promethia, Samari, Scandius, Ytterbia, Yttria).
- Bunnymen gave some vital evidence that William Carter was Maxwell when it wasn't confirmed. When examined by Maxwell, he says "Reminds me of my old act" - William Carter used to be a magician before entering the Constant.
- An attacking Bunnyman has the same animation as the Werebeaver.
- The fact that Bunnymen respawn from their houses after one day, as opposed the Pigmen's four days, may be in reference to the common phrase, "breeds like rabbits".
- Compared to the Pigs which can only say 3 words in a sentence or the Wildbores who say 4 words in a sentence, Bunnymen can only say 1 word, with the exception of a single quote ("IT MAD").
Bugs[]
- Due to the way the "Give" system works, it's possible to give Bunnymen items they have no use for, such as Thulecite, Purple Gems, and Gold Nuggets. They can even be given meat items if distracted. However, they will not eat them, and will keep any of the said items in their inventory until they die. They will also not accept any Things or Gravedigger Items.
- Beardlords can drop regular Bunnyman loot (instead of Beard Hair and Monster Meat), if loaded when restarting a game.
- Sometimes, Bunnymen will spawn or walk in the ocean, thus making it impossible to interact with them in any way.
