The Brightshade Smasher is a Tool Item exclusive to Don't Starve Together, introduced in the From Beyond updates. It can be crafted at the Brightsmithy with 1 Pure Brilliance and 2 Brightshade Husks.

The Brightshade Smasher is a hybrid of both the Pickaxe and Hammer, being able to both mine and destroy Structures respectively. It also functions at 1.33x the efficiency of these tools, however loses durability much quicker when mining.

The Brightshade Smasher is able to mine materials that are too hard for normal tools. This includes the Cracked Pillars that keep the Nightmare Werepig in place and Dreadstone Outcrops. It can also be used to mine Ryftstals without stunning the player.

The Brightshade Smasher deals 32.5 standard damage and 10 Planar Damage for a total of 42.5 damage. The smasher also deals +10% more standard damage and 10% more planar damage to Shadow Creatures for a total of 46.75 damage. Planar damage pierces through the protection of worn Armor and Planar Entity Protection.

If the Brightshade Helm is equipped, the Brightshade Smasher deals +10% standard damage and an additional +5 planar damage.

When the Brightshade Smasher durability is exhausted, it will not break, but instead can no longer be equipped until repaired. Using a Brightshade Repair Kit will restore the durability to 100%.

Trivia

• The Brightshade Smasher was previously called the Brightshade Pickaxe in beta testing and had the abilities of the Pickaxe and Axe, like the Pick/Axe.
