As you may know, I did a poll on disabling article comments. It was a resounding no, but since I feel that I didn't really explain how talk pages worked to help you get what talk pages had over article comments. I'm also doing this because I hate articles comments with a passion.
Here's the basic steps to using a talk page.
- You click the talk button at the top of the article.
- You click leave a message to start a new conversation or edit to discuss active ones.
- You use four or three tilde keys (~~~~) or click the signature button to add your signature to your message so people know who said what.
No random irrelevant comments, far easier to remove incivil comments (you can undo them just like vandal edits), and you get to discuss all the stuff that doesn't matter here at the forums.
Also, instead of using a poll, here's how you're going to vote. You add a message either voting yes or no and explain why on your decision (No anonymous voting to prevent abuse), or you can add a comment message to ask questions. After that I'll count up the results.
