Berries are Fruit Food Items that can be found on Berry Bushes. Berries restore 9.375 when eaten, and take 6 days to spoil. Juicy berries are the alternative of berries, and provide a faster rotting but larger quantity of food to snack on.

Roasted Berries are made by cooking Berries over any Fire. They restore 1 and 12.5 . Roasted Berries spoil twice as fast as regular Berries. Therefore, one shouldn't cook all berries at once (unless rotting), and instead, cook only the amount that will be eaten.
Both Berries and Roasted Berries can be used as ingredients in the Crock Pot, and count as half Fruit value.
Reign of Giants[]
In the Reign of Giants DLC, Berries have a 1% chance to be dropped by Tumbleweeds.
Usage[]
Tips[]
- Berries are excellent filler ingredients for recipes in the Crock Pot since they do not produce many dishes on their own.
- Berry Bushes are very common in Grasslands making Berries a good source of food at the beginning of the game.
- It's advisable not to pick too many berries while exploring, as carrots have faster picking animation than berries and will take more time to spoil.
- Berry Bushes will not regrow picked berries during Winter.
- Gobblers will eat Berries from Berry Bushes that have not yet been picked during the day time (or anywhere else they can find them).
- Berries can be used as bait in Traps to catch Rabbits.
- Manure can be farmed by leaving large stacks of Berries near Pig Houses. The Pigs will eat the Berries over time and turn it into Manure.
- In absence of Pigs, Berries can be cooked to make them spoil faster to obtain Rot, to be used for fertilization.
- In the Hamlet DLC, the price of berries at Swinesbury's Fine Grocers is 1 Oinc, and they can be sold to Ushers for 4 Oincs. Purchasing them whenever they become available ensures a small, steady stream of income.
Trivia[]
- Wickerbottom states that berries are from an Ardisia crenata plant. These berries, while unconfirmed, are suspected to be poisonous.
- Berries may be more specifically based on Redcurrants, because of the close proximity to each other on their stem and edibility.
- Wortox claims that roasted berries last longer than uncooked berries. However, the opposite is actually true, with uncooked berries having double the spoilage time of roasted berries.
