“Beeswax is a scientifically proven preservative!”
“That's none of my beeswax.”
“It's useless on its own, just like me.”
“THE BEES MADE IT”
“Naturally antibacterial. Could slow food decay if we use it properly.”
“I miss sealing a good letter.”
“Refined byproduct of honey production.”
“The stuff of candlemakers.”
“This stuff gives me hives.”
“A lotta work for some wax.”
“A first-rate preservative.”
“Na as good as me own earwax!”
“TO BEESWAX OR NOT TO BEESWAX”
“Aww... Those bees made it just for me.”
“It smells kinda alright.”
“Stole from stinger nest!”
“It's none of my beeswax. Heh...”
Beeswax is a Refined item. It requires 1 Honeycomb to craft, and a Science Machine to prototype. It can be used to craft Wax Paper, which can then be used in other recipes. In Don't Starve Together, Beeswax is a renewable item as honeycombs are renewable from the Gigantic Beehive.
If left on the ground during Summer or near a heat source, the Beeswax will melt and vanish, and cannot be retrieved. This can easily be avoided by placing it inside a Chest or Backpack.
Since Honeycomb is not renewable in the single-player Don't Starve, only a limited number of Beeswax can be crafted.
In Don't Starve Together, Beewax can be used to preserve Giant Vegetables as decorative items.
