Mom said we should eat our vegetables.

Asparagus is a Vegetable Food Item introduced in the Hamlet DLC. It can both be found growing naturally in the world and be obtained through Farming. Asparagus restores 12.5 Hunger when eaten raw, compared to 25 Hunger eaten cooked, which makes it a much better item cooked than raw (as both restore 3 health anyway). The only disadvantage is that the spoilage time is cut in half after being cooked, which makes it advisable to cook asparagus when around halfway through its perishing time to preserve the beneficial properties of cooked asparagus for as long as possible.

Cooked Asparagus is a Vegetable food item created by Cooking Asparagus using any structures or items that turn raw foods into their independently cooked counterparts, such as Campfires, Fire Pits, Dwarf Stars, etc.

Asparagus is also present in Don't Starve Together where it can only be obtained through Farming. Planting a Tubular Seed will produce Asparagus. Warly requires Asparagus to cook Asparagazpacho in his Portable Crock Pot.
